Recruit
Officers use many different strategies to recruit members into the Medicine Valley FCCLA Chapter. The first recruiting event that the officers put together is an open root beer float and sundae bar. The officers cooperated with the FFA officers to plan this event. Both officer teams then work together to distribute invitations and spread the news to every high school, and jr. high school student. At the event, students are informed about all the great opportunities and experiences both programs have to offer. They are also informed about the great benefits both activites include. In both organizations, but especially in FCCLA members will be taught different leadership skills that will stay with them throughout life. Another recruiting strategy the Medicine Valley FCCLA officers use is visiting classrooms to make sure that everyone knows what the program has to offer.
Retain
The Medicine Valley FCCLA Chapter works hard to retain members throughout the year. A couple of things we do to remind the members of our monthly meetings or an event is to have it announced in the announcements and flyers are also hung around the school. An activity our members enjoy every year is our chapter Christmas Party. We hold this event to make sure that our members feel appreciated and welcomed. At this party we play games, watch movies, and eat delicious treats.
Another way we retain members is by having door prizes at every chapter meeting. We use that as a reward for the debris who attend the meetings. Each chapter officers chooses a month to provide these door prizes. The members really enjoy this, so the chapter officers work hard to make the meetings special.

Recognize
The Medicine Valley FCCLA Chapter officers uses a point system to recognize our members. For each Event that a member attends or participates in, a certain amount of points are awarded. At each chapter meeting, and at the end of ever year, the top point winners are awarded. Members must have at least 120 to attend State Leadership Conference.
